NEW YORK STATE STREAMLINES PAYMENTS TO ADOPTIVE FAMILIES: Speeds Payments, Brings Savings to Counties

New York State Adoption Service (NYSAS) Español

Children of all ages are waiting to be adopted. New York State Adoption Service (NYSAS) welcomes responsible, caring adults who are ready to share their time, their hearts, and their lives with our waiting children. When you adopt a waiting child, you will be giving that child a permanent family and another chance in life. All children deserve a loving, committed, safe, and permanent family.

We encourage you to use our website to learn more about the process of adoption in New York State. We trust you will find it an informative and useful guide as you make this most important decision to parent a child.

Information that can be found on this website includes:

Haitian Children Adoption

To locate New York State (NYS) agencies authorized to process intercountry adoptions click here. There are four NYS authorized agencies that indicate they work in Haiti: Adoption S.T.A.R., Inc., Bethany Christian Services, Heart to Heart Adoption Service, Inc., and The Alliance for Children. The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) recommends that prospective adoptive parents interested in adoption from Haiti visit each of the four agency websites and contact those agencies for additional information. There are other adoption agencies located in other states that operate adoption programs in Haiti over which OCFS has no jurisdiction. OCFS recommends checking with the licensing authorities in the state in which the agency is located.
