Outlook Web Access in NYSeMail

Please note that if only access to EMAIL is needed, Outlook Web Access can be used from any Internet connected PC or Laptop at any time.

Outlook Web Access (OWA) is a web based tool which can access a user's email from any pc at any site.

Accessing OWA with Exchange 2003:

If you have Exchange 2003, the URL for the NYSeMail System is: https://webmail.state.ny.us/

From the Internet, you will get prompted at the logon screen; the username is hsen\Your-HSEN-UserID e.g. (hsen\gg1234) and your HSEN password.

Accessing OWA with Exchange 2007:

After the move to Exchange 2007 you will no longer be able to get to Outlook Web Access (OWA) by using https://webmail.state.ny.us.  There are two new URLs with Exchange 2007, one internal and one external to the customer network (HSEN).

The external (Internet/outside of work) URL for OWA is   https://mail.ny.gov/owa

The internal (customer network/NYeNet) URL for OWA is https://mail.nysemail.nyenet/owa.  This link will allow you to access OWA without logging in a second time if your workstation logon and OWA ID are the same.  Never check “Remember my password”.

If you do not know which URL to select, please try https://mail.ny.gov/owa.

From the Internet, you will get prompted at the logon screen; the username is hsen\Your-HSEN-UserID e.g. (hsen\gg1234) and your HSEN password.
