The goals of the Office of the Ombudsman are:

• To be proactive, and not reactive.
• To interact meaningfully with youth placed in the care of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).
• To be effective advocates for our youth and make sure that they receive the services and care to which they are entitled.
• To work collaboratively with others in order to remedy individual and systemic problems.
