Funding for MAT, CPR, and First Aid Training

The Medication Administration Training Rebate Program

Funding is available for training in Medication Administration Training (MAT) for child care workers and legally exempt providers, who are providing publicly subsidized child care.

The Office of Children and Family Services developed the MAT Rebate Program – a reimbursement program designed to offset the cost of the training to certify staff to administer medication in a child care setting.
A provider can receive up to $100 to help pay for the classroom course or $70 for the Independent Study course through the MAT Rebate Program once every 33 months.

Once a provider pays for and successfully completes the MAT course provided by an approved MAT trainer, he/she submits the required application and supporting documentation to MAT Training Rebate Program
An application for a MAT Rebate is available by:

Available Funding for CPR and First Aid Training

The Office has also increased funding to the American Red Cross in order to secure additional training slots for providers who are seeking training in CPR and First Aid. It is recommended that providers identify themselves as licensed/registered day care providers, when signing up for classes, so that they can more easily access training slots. In addition, if a provider finds that the allotted slots are exhausted he/she may apply for Educational Incentive Program (EIP) scholarship funds to pay for the CPR and First aid classes. EIP information can be found at: http://tsg.suny.edu/eip.shtm
