On August 21, 2000 a law was enacted that provides increased protections for children and other New York residents from the potentially harmful effects of pesticides. New York State has one of the most effective pesticide registration and control programs in the country and this law goes even further to protect public health and the environment. In cities and towns across the state, the pesticide notification bill helps arm teachers, parents and community residents with important information they need to limit their exposure to pesticides and protect themselves and their families from unnecessary risk.
