CPS/DV Collaborations and
Domestic Violence Programs

Funds provided to all approved residential and non-residential domestic violence programs across the state.  This agency also has child protective services and domestic violence collaboration in which a domestic violence advocate is out stationed at the local child protective services office.

Trust Fund Program
 
State and federal funds for programs designed to prevent child abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse.
 
Services:
Elder Abuse Prevention initiatives work to prevent abuse of adults over 60 who may be at risk.  Services include case management and counseling for elders at risk of abuse, and offer community education to non-traditional service providers, family members and other community agencies to identify abused elders and link them to services. Programs work in partnership with the local adult protective service unit, health care, housing, legal, banking, criminal justice, and other professionals based on need.

Assists kinship caregivers and children in their care in gaining access to information and community support services.  Any caregiver residing in the State is able to utilize the toll-free phone line or website to identify kinship care related services in their home locale.  In addition, kinship specialists are available to assess caregiver needs and develop a plan of action.

Parent Helpline is an information and referral service for parents, professionals, and others who want to find help and support for families. It is a free, confidential, and multilingual line, available for anyone in New York State.  Services are available 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.  After 10 p.m., you can leave a message with our live answering service and a Helpline Specialist will return your call the following morning.
